There'll be more Deputy Chief Ministers: Tejashwi Yadav says announcement soon

RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial face, Tejashwi Yadav, on Thursday indicated that there will be more Deputy Chief Ministers in the Bihar cabinet.

“There will be more Deputy Chief Ministers, you will get to know about this in a few days,” Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son said while speaking to the media.

Tejashwi Yadav said that the public of Bihar is angry and dissatisfied with the current government and is seeking change. “The present government has been exploiting the people of Bihar since 20 years. The public of Bihar wants change. They are unhappy with the present government,” he said.

Yadav, who is campaigning in Saharsa for the upcoming assembly elections, targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the public and said, “PM Modi sets up factories in Gujarat and wants victory in Bihar, but this is not going to happen. We are Biharis, we don’t get scared by ‘Baharis’ (outsiders).”

He asserted that Bihar would be ruled by its own people and not by outsiders.

Tejashwi Yadav was officially announced as Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial candidate at a press conference a day earlier. Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani, who drove a hard bargain during seat-sharing talks, was declared the deputy chief ministerial candidate.

The announcement, coming just two weeks ahead of the polls, leaves Tejashwi and the Grand Alliance parties limited time to organize and start a full-fledged campaign unitedly.

Tejashwi, who will contest from his traditional Raghopur seat, thanked Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for naming him as the face of the alliance. The Congress had so far refrained from projecting Tejashwi as the chief ministerial face despite the visible camaraderie between him and Rahul Gandhi during the Voter Adhikar Yatra.

The two-phase elections in Bihar are scheduled for November 6 and 11, with results to be announced on November 14.
