For the first time in six years, US President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping came face-to-face on Thursday on the sidelines of the APEC Summit in South Korea, in a high-stakes meeting aimed at easing months of trade tensions and restoring stability between the world’s two largest economies.
“We know each other, we have a great relationship,” Trump told reporters as the two leaders posed for the media.
